There is no need to pay a lot of money for environmental courses. There are so many online nature conservation courses these days. And these are perfected for following next to a bachelor or a master!
Today the planet is facing many different threats, from deforestation to climate change and poaching. No matter what your interests are, there is something for everybody. And there is not gonna be a better moment to learn more about the beauty of nature, we need to start acting now! And these online wildlife conservation courses you can do from the comfort and warmth of your own house!

Today I am showing you my five favourite websites where you can follow free online nature conservation courses. When you are interested in how to communicate, in sustainability or maybe you are interested in a specific ecosystem. Maybe you are like me and you are interested in everything; your holiday is suddenly not a holiday anymore. Time to start learning! The coming weeks I will spend on the couch, under a blanket, following the 10 courses I just enrolled myself in. Enjoy!
1. edX

edX is the trusted platform for education and learning. It is founded by Harvard and MIT and has literally thousands of courses. Their courses are of a wide variety ranging from communication to ecology to art. Some of my favourite courses are #EarthOptimism, Tropical coastal ecosystems, Drawing Nature, Science and Culture, Communicating Science Effectively, Conservation & Protected Areas Management in Africa and Forests and Livelihoods in Developing Countries.
2. OpenLearn

OpenLearn has the vision to break down barriers to education by reaching millions of learners each year. Through free educational resources. This means you can learn from any location, as long as you have a stable internet connection.
They have an enormous nature and environment online course section, covering everything from climate change to wildlife and oceans. Not only bringing a lot of fun but also gaining valuable knowledge!
3. National Geographic

The National Geographic Society is offering Exploring Conservation. This is a free six-course wildlife conservation series, aimed at educating everyone about the importance of conservation and how they can get involved.
These courses were developed by United for Wildlife and the Zoological Society of London.
4. Conservation Training

Conservation training is set up by the nature conservancy and has courses focusing on biodiversity, oceans and conservation tools. Even a course about GIS. This is a helpful program for everybody who wants to work in nature conservation or wildlife research.
5. Coursera

Coursera is a well-known course hosting site. Their environmental online courses range from Ecology and conservation to Primate Conservation and even Women in Environmental Biology. Again, all of these courses are free.
However, if you want a certificate for completion of the course. There will be extra costs.
